Facebook names two women to its board, nearing gender parity

Facebook declared Monday that Nancy Killefer and Tracey Travis are becoming a member of the firm’s board of directors, boosting its female existence to 40%. 

Killefer was a longtime director at McKinsey & Corporation and held many U.S. authorities roles. Travis is Estee Lauder’s chief finance officer and served on the board at Accenture. Travis will serve as a member of the Audit & Risk Oversight Committee of the Board, efficient March 9, 2020.

Killefer and Travis will join current board customers Fb COO Sheryl Sandberg and PayPal’s senior vice president of main marketplaces Peggy Alford, bringing the full selection of women of all ages to 4. There are 6 male administrators on the board.

“We have a whole lot we will need to get done in the coming years and I feel their practical experience is heading to be really precious,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a press launch. “They are the two extremely attained company leaders and I am on the lookout ahead to operating with them.”

Facebook’s board has manufactured a handful of leadership changes more than the earlier calendar year. Dropbox CEO Drew Houston joined the company’s board in February. The shift came just after Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and Erskine Bowles, president emeritus of the College of North Carolina, left the board previous April.
