Mark Meadows resigning from Congress to become Trump’s chief of staff

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., will resign from Congress on Monday to develop into President Donald Trump’s chief of team.

Meadows’ previous communications director Ben Williamson verified to CNBC in an email that he has “moved to the White House to serve as senior advisor to White House Main of Staff members, Mark Meadows.”

Multiple stores reported that Meadows’ first formal working day as Trump’s main of employees will start out Tuesday. CNN noted that his resignation from Congress will consider influence at 5 p.m. ET on Monday, citing an aide to Meadows.

Meadows will thrive Mick Mulvaney, who had served as acting main of team considering that December 2018 along with currently being the Director of the Place of work of Administration and Funds. 

Previously Monday early morning, Meadows tweaked his Twitter deal with to eliminate his congressional title – from “@RepMarkMeadows” to just “@MarkMeadows.”

Trump had introduced on March 6 that Meadows would replace Mulvaney, who remained “performing main of workers” for his full tenure, even even though the placement does not call for Senate affirmation. 

Mulvaney would become United States Exclusive Envoy for Northern Ireland, Trump claimed in that announcement on Twitter.

Politico noted in December that Mulvaney was under no circumstances capable to gain Trump’s full backing and experienced been largely sidelined as his time in the White Residence wore on.
