Pence holds coronavirus briefing as US officials confirm more cases

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to discuss at a briefing Monday night on the administration’s efforts to incorporate the lethal coronavirus outbreak.

His remarks arrive right after the quantity of verified conditions in the United States jumped to 91.

The virus, which was first identified in December, has spread globally, with the the greater part of confirmed situations in China.

At the very least 89,000 conditions have been verified globally, and there have been at minimum 3,040 deaths reported across the world.

President Donald Trump has downplayed the outbreak continuously amid its rising interest, declaring the virus “is extremely substantially under control.”

But U.S. health officials have sent out contradicting indicators, issuing journey warnings to American citizens and urging them to wash their palms with better frequency.

Amid increasing pressure to handle the coronavirus outbreak, Trump final 7 days appointed Pence to lead the U.S. response.

Pence will be joined by Ambassador Deborah Birx, who is serving to him direct the coronavirus response.
